JP Button Creed This is our FC. Everything we do will be in the FC’s best interest. We will put the needs of the FC always ahead of our own. We will strive to work together, and strongly believe in co-dependency. We will pledge to put in, as much as we get out.
JP Button Goals Our primary goal will to always learn; learning about each other’s play styles, strategies, and how to adapt on the fly. This will make us more efficient players while online, and can be carried over to daily life applications, i.e. work. Secondly, we want to successfully fulfill any of the in-game desires our members may have. This obviously includes any of the primal, dungeons, and gear available. This is extremely generic, and a fairly apparent goal of any FC… Our final goal is to have fun. Clearly, then primary purpose of gaming in general is to have an enjoyable experience. This goal was decidedly listed last, because, hopefully, the first two goals will lead to us having fun.
JP Button Ideals To be completely honest, just try not to be a dick. If someone f’s up, sure it sucks, but there’s no need to ride them about it. Everyone has to start somewhere, and it’s our responsibility as a member of the FC to either teach them, or learn to adapt. That being said, let’s face it, we all have our limits. We also have a group on Facebook. This is to help create a sense of community. Sure, you may not want that hot girl that works at the coffee shop, or that cute guy in your philosophy class to know about your “secret” hobby, but that’s why when not recruiting, the group will be “secret.” If members decided to “friend” each other, that’s up to them, if not, they’re not required.
The JP Attitude Members of JP Button come from all walks of life, and that said also perform at various skill levels. We strive each day to be better than we were the day before. Some of us are clearing the newest raid, while others are still struggling to defeat early primals. Whichever the case, we as members of JP must always remember to be considerate of others and be mindful that not everyone is a god. Some members may be skilled enough to be considered an elitist, but the attitude that comes with that skill needs to be set aside. Each and every member of JP button represents the FC as a whole, whether it be in game or otherwise, and we will strive to be outstanding citizens of Eorzea. Always help those in need, and have patience for those who might not understand a fight on the first attempt.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, we will not carry any members through battle. The content in this game is as difficult as it needs to be, and all clears can come with hard work and practice. Remember to always put your heart into everything you do, and with time every member of JP can earn their achievements. Move forward and fight with gusto!
JP Button Rules This isn’t going to be one of those “family” FCs that attempt to edit all of their members. Young people play this game, there’s no way around it, but I’m not one for censorship. I strongly believe it is their parents’ responsibility, not ours, to protect them from “foul” language. Refer back to the “don’t be a dick” comment above. People will piss you off, they will piss me off, it will happen. People will get butt hurt. Life isn’t fair, get over it.
Lootz I decided this should be put in its own section. I absolutely HATE the points system EVERYONE else LOVES to use. My first major HNM LS on FFXI based their looting rules on PPE: priority, participation, efficiency. This may take some explaining because I’m sure most of you are used to the points system (which is not in favor of the FC, but rather in favor of individual members).
Priority: Certain pieces are obviously better for certain classes. This may be obvious due to the classes listed, or due to the stats on the piece. Members will be allowed to select TWO looting classes. Recruitment will be based on the classes selected. Before you, the reader, starts crying because you’re Legacy and have everything capped already (like myself), members will be allowed to change their looting classes once every three months.
Participation: This is pretty straight forward. Participation in events, or lack there-of, can make or break a FC. Members will be expected to participate in at least 75% of planned events to retain their looting rights. 50-75% participation would result in being dropped a looting tier (your primary selected class would now only be allowed to loot with others looting on their secondary classes). 25-50% would be dropped another tier (you would now only be able to loot with those that have the class leveled, but it is not selected as either their primary or secondary class). 0-25% would only be allowed to loot on “free loot” items. Aside from planned events, members will be allowed to perform side tasks assigned by leadership in lieu of events if they so choose. These may be anything from crafting materials to pulling training duty runs in Primal/Dungeons.
Efficiency: You know all those times in your old HNM LS when someone got that awesome tank piece with their points that you really needed and you got all pissed because that someone never tanked? Well that’s not going to happen in this FC.
Who would get the most use out of that piece that just dropped from XXX? Is it a tank piece? Have you been to 75%+ of events, or made up missed events by crafting loads of gear for your fellow FC members? !!! You get to roll on that drop !!! Sure, you may have to roll against 1 or 2 other people, but what they don’t have to worry about is some WHM that happens to have PLD leveled (but they really blow at tanking) getting the drop before you do. All of that is why PPE > Points
